How do I enable the option to remove empty lines in TSS?

You may find that the option to Remove all empty lines is grayed out. This option only becomes available if your Translation Mode is set to Text Only.
The following are steps to enable this option:
TSS 4 and 5:
Go to Add-Ins > Tiger > Translation Mode and select Text Only.
Now, you may go to Add-Ins > Tiger > Formatter Settings > Document Settings > Simplification Settings and enable Remove all empty lines.
TSS 6:
Go to Tiger and select Text Only Mode.
Now you may go to Tiger > Formatter Settings > Page Layout > Advanced and enable Remove all empty lines.
