Adjusting the ink dry time
Last Updated 9 years ago

After the SpotDot completes ink printing and before it begins embossing it will wait for a specified amount of time to allow the ink on the page time to dry. Depending on what you are embossing, you may find that this dry time is too long and causing excess delays or too short causing ink image streaking and ghosting. To adjust the SpotDot ink dry time follow the steps below.

  1. Connect the VP SpotDot to your computer via USB.
  2. Open the Driver Properties window, the steps change depending upon which version of windows you are using.
  3. Windows XP:

    • Click on the Start Menu.
    • Click on Control panel.
    • Double Click on Printers and Faxes.
    • Locate your ViewPlus embosser, right click on it and select Properties.

    Windows Vista:

    • Click on the Windows Button.
    • Click on the Printers and Devices.
    • Locate your ViewPlus embosser, right click on it and select Printer Properties.

    Windows 7, 8, & 8.1:

    • Click on the Windows Button.
    • Click on the Devices and Printers.
    • Locate your ViewPlus embosser, right click on it and select Printer Properties.
  4. Select the Tiger tab.
  5. Change the Print Quality drop down menu. Increasing the print quality increases the dry time. The dry time will automatically adjust every time you change the print quality.
  6. Press OK to save the changes.
Note: It is not recommended to use the draft print quality setting when embossing pages with graphics.
