How to check the printer error code for a ViewPlus embosser

Accessible instructions that work in all versions of Windows

Press and hold your Windows key and press R to bring up the Run dialog.
Type Control Printers and press Enter.
Navigate to select your ViewPlus embosser.
Tap your menu key.

Arrow to select Printer properties and press Enter.
Shift-Tab to select the General tab.
Arrow over to the Service tab.
Check that Status monitoring is enabled.
If there is no check box to enable Status monitoring, you will need to first update your printer driver.
If the ViewPlus embosser is on and connected, you should be able to see the printer status, I.E. "ID 0: Ready"
Your driver version should be at the bottom.

Windows XP

  1. Click on the start menu
  2. Click on Faxes and Printers.

  3. Locate your ViewPlus Embosser.

  4. Right Click your embosser and then Click Properties.

  5. Click on the Service tab.

  6. If unchecked, check the Enable Status Monitoring box.

  7. The embosser error code, or status, will display on the left hand side of this dialogue.

Click Start.
Click Devices and Printers.

Right-click your ViewPlus embosser.

Click the Service tab.
